Coach Steven Edwards

Coach Edwards was a 1972 graduate of Cleveland Heights High where in played multiple sports and specialized in track.  He went on to attend Bowling Green State University as a scholarship track athlete graduating in the class of 1976. He returned to Cleveland Heights as a teacher and coach working with his mentor and friend Coach Dick Mann. He later attended Eastern Kentucky University receiving his Master degree, where he also coached track and was the director of multi-cultural students services.  Steve has coached at every educational level; middle school, high school, and college.  With the loving support of his family he has been able to enjoy a long coaching career where he was able to set high expectations for his students and athletes through his values of the importance of education, building strong character and respect for others.  Steve is a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.  Coach Edwards has served on a number of non-profit boards of directors. Coach Edwards retired in 2007 and now resides in Peachtree City, Georgia with his wife Joanne of 40 years and both of their moms.

Barbara J. Edwards

Barbara Joanne Edwards is a wife, mother, and business leader.  Married to her husband Steve of 40 years they have worked closely, through many rewarding track seasons.  Their children are sons Steven and his wife Quynh, Richard and his wife Tina, and daughter Lisa.  They have 7 grandchildren and 2 great grand children.  Through Steves career we have adopted children and extended family members.  During track season it seemed all the kids Steve coached became part of our extended family, many of which are still in touch with us with today.  Post retirement from Eaton Corporation in 2017 Joanne has a second career as a board member with Standex International and Amsted Industries.  Steve and Joanne live with their moms in Peachtree City, Georgia.

Steven G. Edwards

Steven attended WVHS from 1995 to 1997, during which he was a member of the track team and was coached by his Dad.  He studied History and Political Science at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and holds a law degree from Columbia University in the City of New York. He is currently an attorney with the Los Angeles County Office of the County Counsel and advises County departments on matters involving health and safety.  Steven and his wife reside in Los Angeles, California.

Larry Lewis

Larry has known Coach E since he was a 14 year-old freshman at WVHS.  Under Coach E’s guidance Larry was a successful sprinter throughout high school; winning multiple conference championships and placing at both the sectional and state track meets.  Larry played D-II football and ran track on scholarship.  After college he worked in the fields of finance, government, and politics.  He currently serves as Regional Director of Government Affairs for Aetna, a CVS Health Company.  Larry credits Coach E’s coaching, mentorship, and friendship for making him the man, husband, and father he is today.

Richard Jackson, Sr.

Richard has the unique position in the committee of attending both Cleveland Heights High 1986-1988 and Waubonsie Valley High School from 1989-1990, he then went on to Iowa State University. From the age of 13 Richard was an athlete and student of Coach Edwards. In 1988 Richard was adopted by the Edwards family.  Richard, his wife children and grandchildren live in Omaha, Nebraska where he works as an Optician and Entrepreneur.

Torian Richardson

Torian is an investor, culture scientist, and global executive coach. For more than 20 years, Torian has provided international leadership in analytics, culture & people development, as well as strategy & innovation. He is a lifelong learner through experience and immersion living and working on four continents and journeying through over 75 countries. Additionally, From Africa, Torian was the first in his family to graduate college, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Benedictine University and a Masters of Public Administration in International Development from Tsinghua University in Beijing, where he learned Mandarin and is an alumnus of Harvard Business School. Torian was  an athlete and student for Coach Edwards in middle school and at Waubonsie Valley High school

Willie Parker

Willie attended Cleveland Heights High School from 1985 through 1988. Coach Edwards was one of his great track coaches, as well as a father figure to Willie and the rest of the track team. Please don't forget about his right hand, his wife Joanne. Thank you guys so much, love you! Willie is married, has six children and eight grandchildren, and lives in Maple Heights Ohio.    

Willie works for the Department of Defense as an HVAC mechanic.
